Conversations
I've enjoyed conversations about ministry all across the state of New Mexico and across the United States. I've begun recording some of those conversations to share with others. As I travel with my Blue Yeti microphone, God opens opportunities to hear hearts and gather nuggets of truth that can only be told by those who discovered them. Listen. Ponder. Then, do something new!
Phil Glisson, 2015 C.O.S.B.E. President
I asked Phil Glisson, president of the Conference of Southern Baptist Evangelists, how evangelists can help New Mexico’s churches. He explained that Southern Baptist evangelists are ready to help smaller churches, if they will only ask. Many evangelists genuinely follow a faith approach to their ministry, which means ministering in churches that may cost the evangelist more than the church provides. Andrew Hebert, 2015 SBC Committee on Order of Business, Chairman
The main concourse of the Columbus Convention Center was the perfect place to touch base with 28 year-old pastor Andrew Hebert, from Taylor Memorial Baptist Church in Hobbs. Hebert chairs the Committee on the Order of Business for this year’s convention meeting. He’s led the group that has planned the schedule for the entire annual meeting. In this podcast he shares why he is a Southern Baptist and talks about working with SBC president Ronnie Floyd.
Monty Patton, Pastor & Church Planting Coordinator, Phoenix, AZ
NAMB’s Phoenix coordinator for Send North America, Monty Patton, enlists churches from across our nation to partner with church planters in the Phoenix metroplex. One church he enlisted was First Baptist Church of Aztec, in the Four Corners of New Mexico. Patton explains the importance of the work Aztec church member completed in preparation for Mountain Ridge Metro’s first preview worship service. When it was all done, the church plant had 120 people attend the preview service.
